The true meaning of anointing is often misconstrued. The act of anointing in the Bible was consecration to a holy or sacred use. EVERY saint must, at sometime, have the anointing experience. It should color everything we do. Witnessing, giving a bible study, praying, worshiping, testifying, even writing.
Isaiah 10 : 27 says, “… And the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.” There are people all around us in the bondage of sin, and the only thing that can set them free is our anointing. Satan fears this. He knows that God – given anointing is the key to the chains of sin. To be anointed by God is not only to be chosen, but also to be empowered by Him for the task or position to which He has called you.
I recently read an article that helped explain the liberty God gives us as His people. “The word “Christ” is not just another name for Jesus, but a reference to the Anointed and the Anointing that was on Him and in Him. In the same way, the word “Christians” means more than just followers of Jesus. It means “the anointeds.” The same yoke-destroying Anointing that was on Jesus is available to you.”
If you’re “in Christ” there’s an anointing for everything God has called you to do.
Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” The same anointing that enabled us to be filled with the Holy Ghost, can infuse every part of our lives and leave us saturated, ready to be used by the Almighty.
